Snow Guardians | Trailer | Motion-Design

Project Details

Snow Guardians is a visually intense, feature-length documentary film about the life and work of Ski Patrol team-members and avalanche rescue workers in the resorts and back-country of Montana’s Rocky Mountains.

Roughly three years in the making, the film was spearheaded by renowned travel photographer Carson Garner of F9 Photo, and was developed around an exciting collaborative approach to film-making that teamed hard-core documentary veterans with young, gifted upstarts from across the US.

Pulling talent from a wide variety of media, including aerial photography, time-lapse photography and traditional cinema,  the result is a visually stunning film that’s far more cinematic than most documentaries, with footage that’s just absolutely gorgeous, thanks to the talents of contributors like famed aerial photographer and DSLR-cinema pioneer, Vincent Laforet, and Tyler Ginter and Khalid Mohtaseb of the acclaimed production company, Variable.

I was thrilled beyond belief to be included in the project, and I couldn’t be prouder to be associated with the quality of people and the work that’s represented on-screen. Carson brought together a really special group of people and it definitely shows in the finished material. I’m extraordinarily happy that I got to pitch in to such a fantastic project!

In addition to the 3D titles, particle effects and motion-design you see in the trailer, I also developed the film’s opening and closing credits, as well as the interstitial graphics and animated lower-thirds that appear in the final film.
